NCL30083 Dimmable Quasi-Resonant Primary Side Current-Mode Controller for LED Lighting with Thermal Fold-back www.onsemi.com The NCL30083 is a PWM current mode controller targeting isolated flyback and nonisolated constant current topologies. The controller operates in a quasiresonant mode to provide high efficiency. Thanks 8 8 to a novel control method, the device is able to precisely regulate a 1 1 constant LED current from the primary side. This removes the need Micro8 SOIC8 for secondary side feedback circuitry, biasing and an optocoupler. PIN FUNCTION DESCRIPTION Pin No Pin Name Function Pin Description 1 SD Thermal Foldback Connecting an NTC to this pin allows reducing the output current down to 50% and shutdown of its fixed value before stopping the controller.
