NCL30188 Power Factor Corrected Quasi-Resonant Primary Side Current-Mode Controller for LED Lighting www.onsemi.com with Thermal Foldback The NCL30188 is a controller targeting isolated and nonisolated smartdimmable constantcurrent LED drivers. Designed to 8 support flyback, buckboost, and SEPIC topologies, its proprietary 1 currentcontrol algorithm provides nearunity power factor and SOIC8 NB CASE 751 tightly regulates a constant LED current from the primary side, thus eliminating the need for a secondaryside feedback circuitry or an optocoupler. MARKING DIAGRAM Housed in the SOIC8, the NCL30188 is specifically intended for 8 very compact spaceefficient designs. The device is highly integrated L30188x with a minimum number of external components. A robust suite of ALYW safety protections is built in to simplify the design. To ensure reliable operations at elevated temperatures, a user configurable current 1 foldback circuit is also provided.
