The MAXBOTIX XL-MAXSONAR-EZ2 MB1220 ultrasonic sensor is part of the XL-MaxSonar-EZ line of sensors from Pololu, which are highly accurate, low-cost transducers. This particular model is ideal for object detection and ranging applications and features a wide beam angle that can detect objects up to 8m (26.25 ft) away. It is powered by 5V and has a detection distance range of 10 to 20cm (4to 8in). The MB1220 is IP67-rated for dust- and waterproofing and is backed by a 1-year warranty.
