Additional Infomation About Product

Robotics and Electronics The Pololu QTR-HD-02RC Reflectance Sensor Array is an 8-sensor array designed to detect obstacles in your robot's vicinity. Its lightweight design and wide field of view make it perfect for avoiding obstacles or mapping a room. The sensors are arranged in an array so the overall field of view is greater than with discrete detectors. It also eases installation and combines the outputs of its 8 detectors into a single voltage signal that is interpretable by your robot's microcontroller. The array consists of eight infrared sensors grouped in a row, each of which outputs a digital signal corresponding to the amount of reflected light. The analog voltage output can be used directly to determine when a certain threshold has been crossed. The array can detect objects in darkness if they are sufficiently bright. Each sensor has an independent digital output that can be used to detect the presence of an object.
