The Pololu Balboa Stability Conversion Kit is designed to give your Balboa robot enhanced stability while driving on slippery surfaces and other difficult terrains. It consists of four silicone-based treaded wheels, two long trim pieces, two short trim pieces, and two pairs of mounting hardware. This kit increases the contact area between your Balboa and the surface it is driving on, leading to increased stability and better gripping on various surfaces such as wood, tile, and even dirt. The additional silicone-based treaded wheels also provide additional cushioning when traveling over bumps. When mounted correctly, the center of the tread is almost level with the edge of the gear motor, allowing the Balboa to easily climb over small obstacles.
