The SC0163D-TL is a Battery Management System (BMS), manufactured by Power Integrations and it is packaged in an SO-8 RoHS compliant package. It is a Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) designed for single-cell Li-ion or Li-polymer battery packs with a voltage range of 2.7V to 6V. It supports up to 15 cells with cell equalization, allowing for better battery utilization. The device features an integrated microcontroller, safety timer, open cell detection, and adjustable programmable charge and discharge current limits. It is capable of charging larger batteries of up to 5A and discharging at up to 1.5A, and it also includes features such as high temperature protection, over voltage and under voltage protection, over-discharge protection, and over-charge protection. It has an operating temperature range of -40° C to +85° C, and it also includes a digitally programmable power-down feature.
