7227IJI is a Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) research project hosted by Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The research project is aimed at developing and delivering new technologies for the RCAF. The project will focus on improving the overall capability and interoperability of the RCAF's command and control systems. The project will use an iterative, collaborative environment to bring together the right people and technologies to ensure the best possible solutions are developed and deployed. The project will develop new technologies that provide integrated, real time situational awareness, decision support and mission planning capabilities, while improving existing systems and leveraging existing investments in information technology. The project will also improve the ability of the RCAF to operate effectively in the information age. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of advanced airborne systems engineering, advanced networking technologies, advanced communication networks and software, secure collaboration and operational data sharing.
