SK9085 was a type of site developed by the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) for use in air defence operations. The site consisted of a ground-based radar and communications facility situated in a remote location. The remote site was used to detect, identify and track aircraft in a given geographical area. As the radar was capable of measuring the aircraft's altitude and speed, the RCAF could then respond by redirecting their own fighter aircraft towards the intruding aircraft. SK9085 sites were used extensively by the RCAF during the Cold War.
