A voltage divider is an electronic circuit made up of resistors that can be used to create a voltage drop between a source and a load. It is a very simple circuit that can be used to reduce the voltage of a power source. A voltage divider can be used to supply a lower voltage to a sensitive electronics device such as a microcontroller or a logic chip, or to reduce the voltage supplied to a motor, or to increase the current capacity of a circuit.
