The Shurite 7405Z is a draw-wire linear position sensor. It is an analog output device that uses a string potentiometer to measure position along a varying line. This device is ideal for applications where long linear measurement distances are required such as cranes, lifts, conveyors, and valves.
The Shurite 7405Z features a stainless steel housing that provides protection from contaminants, a 10-pin M12 connector for electrical connection, and a 20 million operation life cycle. The device has a 100mm measuring range and can measure up to 12mm per rotation of the draw-wire. It is rated for temperatures ranging from -40°C to +125°C, and has a 3-wire NAMUR output with HTL line driver. Other features include a built-in short circuit protection, reverse polarity protection, hysteresis compensation, and diagnosis output.
