The SI8440BA-D-IS1 is a 1 kV 4-channel digital isolator from Silicon Labs that is used to provide electrical isolation to reduce electrical noise and/or protect circuits from power fluctuations, transient surges, and radio frequency interference. The device has two independent optically-coupled interface channels, with four data lanes. The device supports TTL devices and CMOS logic, with data rates up to 25 Mbps per channel. The device is designed using a patented 500 ps propagation delay and advanced CMOS technology to provide low jitter (less than 10 ns) and high electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). The robust I/O protection circuits also allow a wide range of operating temperatures. The device is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and is suitable for applications in industrial and communication systems.
