A5975AD Up to 2.5 A step-down switching regulator for automotive applications Datasheet - production data Protection against feedback disconnection Thermal shutdown Application Dedicated to automotive applications +623 H SRVHG SDG Description The A5975AD is a step-down monolithic power Features switching regulator with a minimum switch current Qualified following the AEC-Q100 limit of 3.1 A, it is therefore able to deliver up to requirements (see PPAP for more details) 2.5 A DC current to the load depending on the application conditions. The output voltage can be 2.5 A DC output current set from 1.235 V to 35 V. The high current level is Operating input voltage from 4 V to 36 V also achieved thanks to a HSOP8 package with 3.3 V / (2%) reference voltage exposed frame, that allows to reduce the R THJ-A down to approximately 40 C/W. The device uses Output voltage adjustable from 1.235 V to 35 V an internal P-channel DMOS transistor (with a Low dropout operation: 100% duty cycle typical R of 250 m) as switching element DS(on) 500 kHz internally fixed frequency to minimize the size of the external components. An internal oscillator fixes the switching frequency Voltage feed-forward at 500 kHz. Having a minimum input voltage of Zero load current operation only 4 V, it fits automotive applications requiring Internal current limiting device operation even in cold crank conditions. Pulse-by-pulse current limit with the internal Inhibit for zero current consumption frequency modulation offers an effective constant Synchronization current short-circuit protection. Figure 1.
