The L4978D013TR is an integrated circuit switching regulator from STMicroelectronics and is designed for optimized operation with a wide input voltage range from 3.3V to 50V. The device combines a selectable frequency current-mode control with a high-efficiency power stage. It offers low-noise operation and up to 95% efficiency, requires few external components, and helps reduce external component costs. The device includes overcurrent protection, high/low-voltage lockout, and adjustable frequency operation. It also provides thermal-shutdown protection, output overvoltage protection, and current regulation, making it suitable for a variety of applications including handheld electronics, motor applications, industrial power supplies, and consumer and medical electronics.
