Additional Infomation About Product

The L7980 is a monolithic step-down switching regulator controller from STMicroelectronics. It is designed to provide an efficient and cost-effective DC-DC power solution for applications in industrial, consumer and computer product markets. It offers low-cost integrated over temperature and over current protection and is suitable for use in applications operating up to 30V with output voltages ranging from 0.8V to 5.5V. The L7980 uses a fixed frequency PFM (pulse frequency modulation) control mode that allows for low audible-noise operation. It includes features such as a typical start-up current of only 0.2mA, a maximum output current of 5A and very low quiescent current in standby mode. Additionally, its current mode control with internal slope compensation and wide VCC operating range make it particularly suitable for automotive applications.
