Network Protocol
SL485K-002 is an RS-485-based multi-node communication protocol used in Synapse Networks. It is designed to transmit data across complex networks of distributed embedded systems with minimal latency and at high reliability. SL485K-002 is a master/slave protocol in which each node has a Master Node Manager (MNM) that acts as an arbiter for communication among the nodes. All communication is carried out through a single serial connection between the master and the slaves. Each node also has its own transmission identification address so communications can be addressed to specific nodes in the network. The protocol provides both serial data and control information, allowing for bi-directional communication between devices. It also supports complex network topologies and can include up to 255 nodes. The SL485K-002 protocol takes advantage of Synapse's full suite of network authentication and encryption technologies.
