B88069X4231S102 with Gas Discharge Tubes (GDTs) / Gas Plasma Arrestors EM 3000XS manufactured by TDK is a compact, high speed, high energy surge protector designed to protect sensitive components from high voltage transients and surges. This device consists of two parts: a Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) and an Insulated Metal Substrate (IMS). The GDT consists of two electrodes that are spaced with an insulating film. When a surge voltage is applied, the GDT breaks down and conducts the surge energy, thus protecting the downstream circuitry from damage. The IMS provides an additional degree of protection by allowing the currents to dissipate, either to ground or clamped to a preset level, without damaging the sensitive components. This device offers superior performance with frequencies from DC up to 1GHz and an energy rating of up to 3000XS. It is designed to offer enhanced protection from surges, spikes, electromagnetic interference, and lightning.
