The MAX232IDR is an integrated circuit manufactured by Texas Instruments to provide an RS-232 communication interface. It contains two independent EIA-232 driver/receiver circuits, and supports a wide range of communication rates up to 250 kbps. It is especially useful for connecting microcontrollers, such as Arduino and PIC, to a computer. It also features an internal voltage regulator for single-supply operations, utilizing a single 3.3V supply voltage. The MAX232IDR supports two driver/receiver channels enabling concurrent operation of both transmit and receive lines. It has integrated slew rate limiting for data rates up to 250 kbps. The part also features low power consumption and a low voltage shutdown, making it a versatile and cost-effective solution for a wide range of projects.
