The SN65HVD1781D is a 70V fault-protected RS-485 xceiver manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is specifically designed for robust data communication on multipoint busses, and has integrated circuitry to protect against failure and false operation due to voltage faults. It has a robust half Duplex RS485 mode, capable of operation up to 35 Mbps with up to 256 nodes. It is resistant to inrush current, overlapping data frames, and spurious ringing due to lightning. It features an 8-bit, 5V-tolerant receiver with improved common mode range of -7V to +12V, and a 15kV ESD rating. It is designed for industrial and harsh environment applications, and meets or exceeds all ISO/IEC, RoHS, and other regulatory requirements.
