The THVD1429DR with RS-422/RS-485 Interface IC from Texas Instruments is a 3.3 to 5-V RS-485 transceiver with surge protection. It is an 8-implanted plastic small-outline integrated circuit (SOIC) device. It supports data rates up to 10 Mbps and boasts an exceptional immunity to EFTs and surges. The -40°C to 125°C wide temperature range operating allows for its use in high-reliability automotive and industrial applications. Its built-in surge protection on the RS-485 outputs and interface pins make it ideal for protection against stress and transients. The device features a 2.5-kV HBM ESD protection for all pins and robust drivers that help reduce EMI emissions. It also features 10-V common-mode input voltage to meet the ANSI EIA/TIA-422-B standard, hot-swap capability, fail-safe design, and slew-rate control that can be used at rates as low as 150 Kbps. The device is RoHS-compliant.
