The THVD1450DR, manufactured by Texas Instruments, is an RS-422/RS-485 Interface IC 3.3-V to 5-V RS-485 Transceivers With +/-16-kV IEC ESD Protection 8-SOIC -40 to 125. It features 5-V to 3.3-V logic level conversion and is designed to provide the physical layer of communication interfaces for half-duplex, multi-drop RS-485 networks and point-to-point applications. It comes with transformer-less isolation to help protect devices from ESD, transients, and surges, and provides complementary use of receivers and transmitters for point-to-point and multi-drop transmission requirements. It integrates two line-driver receivers and two line-driver transmitters, compression-direction controllers and an internal filter to reach the minimum EMI requirement. This part is offered in a 8-pin SOIC package for a variety of industrial and communications applications with temperatures ranging from -40 to 125°C.
