The TMI9290A is a RoHS-compliant (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) with Battery Management SOP-8. It is a low power, voltage-monitoring system-on-a-chip designed for lithium-ion and hybrid power systems. The TMI9290A provides comprehensive monitoring, balancing, and cell protection in a single package. It has built-in reliability and safety features, including Device Temperature Sensing (DTS) and Overvoltage Protection (OVP), making it suitable for cost-efficient battery packs. The TMI9290A also includes cell-balancing with up to 6 channels of accurate voltage monitoring and user adjustable balancing control. Furthermore, an integrated EEPROM is provided to store system parameters such as cell balancing time and temperature compensation coefficients. This part is manufactured and distributed by TMI.
