The 6AY11 is a type of vacuum tube manufactured by General Electric during the early 1940s. It was designed as a software pass-through tube, accepting and redirecting audio signals or pulses, making it a useful component in early electronic music equipment, radios and TVs. It is a triode valve rated at 400 volts and 5 watts. Its maximum anode and grid voltage limits are approximately twice that of other similarly rated valves. With its short, compact size, this tube was also ideal for military and aviation electronics applications. It is notable for having a tuned-grid circuit, which helps lessen the effect of RF interference.
