TechnologiesThe UT3232G-S16-R is an integrated circuit (IC) manufactured by Unisonic Technologies. This IC is used for controlling RS232 communications with speeds up to 250Kbps over a range of voltage inputs from 3V to 5.5V. It is a 16-pin SOP-150mil RoHS package. This IC is designed to provide the bidirectional translation of signals between the RS232 interface and the peripheral devices. It supports the handshake protocol between the two devices, ensuring data reliability. It also supports the half-duplex communication when it is connected to an RS232 port. This IC also features an on-chip position switch port which can be used to enable/disable communication with the device. The UT3232G-S16-R also has a programmable watch dog timer that can detect errors and reset the device if required.
