1962-3 Videk

1962-63 was a time of great change in the then Yugoslavian nation of Videk. In June 1962, new Parliamentary elections took place and the first Prime Minister of the newly elected government was Alexander Rankovic. The period also saw an enormous industrialisation drive, marked by the creation of a series of huge factories all over the country. Ideas for significant economic reform were enacted and a range of public services were improved. One of the most important developments from this period was the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Guarantees between Videk and the Soviet Union, leading to closer relations with the east in areas such as defense and economic policies. The country was also beginning to expand its industrial and agricultural production, which would become essential for the economic development of Videk in the following decades.
