literature AR12BTCU2002 is part of a series of prose works written in Old Norse around the 13th century AD. The works, collectively known as the Vinland Sagas, are believed to be the last remnants of Viking literature from the Scandinavian countries. The Vinland Sagas record the exploration of a land known as Vinland far to the west of Iceland, which is widely accepted to be the area in modern-day Canada known as Newfoundland. The saga known as Grœnlendinga saga ("Saga of the Greenlanders") is one of the two primary works in the collection, and AR12BTCU2002 is a fragment of one of the manuscripts containing the saga. This fragment's unique identifier is AR12BTCU2002. It consists of six vellum leaves containing portions of chapters 8-10 of the saga.
