The Yageo BK23000702-M is a gas discharge tube (GDT) gas plasma arrestor designed for 140V 30–1KA SPG SMD, Surface Mounted Devices. It is designed to protect electrical components from overvoltage transients by dissipating and stopping the spike of energy before it reaches its target. It utilizes gas held at low pressure between two electrodes to do this, where on the application of a voltage above a predetermined threshold, the gas conducts and extinguishes the transient. This Yageo GDT model has a high surge current capability and low let-through voltage, making it ideal for protecting circuits exposed to extreme voltages. It also operates at a very low temperature, enabling its use in cooler, compact spaces.
