Active System Adapters
Active system adapters are hardware components that allow different types of hardware systems to interface with each other. They are used to add additional ports and connectors for peripheral devices such as hard drives, USB devices, cameras, and other components. Active system adapters are used to bridge the communication between two components and provide electrical power to the peripheral. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and can include FireWire, Thunderbolt, ExpressCard, mini DisplayPort, optical, audio, and other connectors. Some active system adapters are also Ethernet capable, allowing network connections between multiple systems.
