About Loudspeaker Enclosures
Loudspeaker Enclosures
A loudspeaker enclosure, also known as a loudspeaker cabinet, is a container specifically designed to house and protect the components of a loudspeaker system, including the woofer, tweeter and crossover. The enclosure is typically made of wood, metal, plastic or a combination of materials, and helps ensure that the components within are well-protected while providing acoustic benefits to improve the overall sound quality of the system. Different enclosures may also provide attenuation of certain frequencies, as well as dampening of unwanted acoustic feedback. In some instances, the design of the enclosure may be used to replicate the sound signature of a live performance.
