About Loudspeaker Connectors
Loudspeaker Connectors
Loudspeaker connectors are electrical connectors that are used to plug in and connect loudspeakers to amplifiers or other audio sources. They come in various configurations, depending on the number of channels on the audio source, the power requirements of the loudspeaker, and the type of cable being used. The most common types of loudspeaker connectors are banana plugs also know as binding posts and quarter-inch (TS) phone jacks. Banana plugs are preferred for installations because they are easy to use and provide a more secure connection. Quarter-inch (TS) phone jacks are most often found in consumer-level audio systems and are equipped with a built-in strain relief system. Other options include speakON, Neutrik connector and the Pin-Jack connector.
