D-Sub standard connectors, also known as D-Subminiatures, are a type of electrical connector. They are used in a variety of electrical connections and come in multiple pin counts that range from 9 to 50 pins. The connectors are generally made from metal, and contain a male and female end which, when connected, create an interface for the transfer of a signal, data, or power. The connection is secured using a thumbscrew that is extended from the female end of the D-Sub. D-Sub connectors are used in a variety of digital and analog applications and are generally rated for up to 250 volts.
