Molex SIMM Connectors
SIMM (Single In-line Memory Module) connectors are circuit board connectors that are used to connect and pass data between larger circuit boards, such as memory cards and system motherboards. They are composed of a series of metal contacts and a “snap” on plastic housing. The metal contacts allow data to be passed between components whereas the housing provides protection and helps secure a stable connection. They are typically found in personal computers, but are also used in a variety of other electronics. SIMM connectors are usually identified by the number of pins they have, meaning the number of contacts used for data transmission and the type of memory card they are designed for.
