G-Switch DIP Switches/SIP Switches
DIP Switches (Dual Inline Package Switches) are small switches, typically found on printed circuit boards, which enable a user to change the function of a device with minimal effort. They are composed of multiple small contacts (usually two, but more contacts are also possible) which can be connected together, by simply moving a switch to the ‘ON’ position. These switches can be used to configure different features of a device, such as in computers, which have various settings.
SIP (Single In-line Package) Switches are a type of switch that is manufactured in a single housing unit and has multiple pins. A user can simultaneously flip multiple switches to turn the device on or off. This type of switch is most often used in telecom and automotive applications. Like the DIP switch, it is also typically found on a printed circuit board, but usually in higher numbers than the DIP switch.
