Solid State Drives (SSD) are a storage device that uses integrated circuit assemblies as memory to store data. SSDs are used to replace traditional hard disk drives (HDD) as they are much faster and more reliable. Whereas HDD works by storing data magnetically on spinning disks, SSDs store data electronically on flash memory chips, resulting in a much faster data storage and retrieval operation. SSDs also have several advantages over HDDs such as lower power consumption, no noise, increased durability, and faster access time. Additionally, SSDs typically have longer lifespans than HDDs since there are no moving parts that can break down.
