About Aluminium Electrolytic Capacitors - Radial Leaded
Aluminium Electrolytic Capacitors - Radial Leaded
Aluminium electrolytic capacitors (AECs) are electrical components that use an electrolyte to store energy and act as a condenser. They are typically used in applications requiring large capacitance values, high operating temperatures and low-ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) ratings. AECs are generally used for high-frequency or high-current pulses in applications such as power supply design. AECs come in various shapes and sizes, including radial leaded AECs. Radial leaded AECs feature two leads extending outward from the sides of the case and are designed to mount directly to a circuit board. They are typically a lower profile capacitor compared to their axial leaded AEC counterparts and are available in ratings ranging from 150µF to 6800µF. Radial leaded AECs have low ESR, excellent temperature characteristics and long life span.
