Niobium oxide capacitors are a type of high-performance, high temperature ceramic capacitors that utilize the chemical compound niobium oxide (NbO) as a dielectric material. Niobium oxide capacitors are extremely stable, durable and enjoy very high voltage ratings without sacrificing capacitance values. A unique feature of Niobium capacitors is their ability to significantly reduce losses associated with dielectric absorption. This makes them ideal for use in applications that require low impedance, such as RF applications. Niobium oxide capacitors typically have an operating temperature range from -50C to +150C, higher thermal shock tolerance than comparable tantalum capacitors, and are available with very high voltage ratings (up to 2000VDC).
