Diodes - General Purpose, Power, Switching
A diode is an electronic component that allows electric current to move in one direction while blocking it in the other direction. General purpose diodes, also known as "signal" diodes, are typically small, low power, and used for protection, signal rectification, or voltage control. Power diodes are much larger and meant for higher current or voltage loads, and found in applications such as power supplies, LED lighting, and motor control. Switching diodes are fast-acting and used in applications such as switch debouncing or audio isolation.
