About High Speed Operational Amplifiers
High Speed Operational Amplifiers
High Speed Operational Amplifiers (HSOs) are specialized amplifiers designed to operate at higher speeds than regular operational amplifiers. They are used in a variety of fast signal-processing applications including fast pulse propagation, high-performance sample-and-hold circuits, fast switching circuits, and fast digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital converters. The speed of HSOs is typically specified in terms of slew rate and bandwidth. Slew rate refers to how quickly the amplifier responds to an input signal, and bandwidth is the frequency range over which the amplifier is capable of faithfully reproducing the input signal. HSOs typically offer fast transient response, high gain-bandwidth product, wide common-mode input range, and high immunity from noise.
