Precision amplifiers are operational amplifiers (op-amps) designed to operate with extremely precise linearity and high accuracy. They are designed to be used with highly sensitive components and circuits that are used in applications requiring extremely accurate measurements. Examples of such application areas include precision data acquisition systems, medical instruments, high speed and accuracy test equipment, precision audio, and instrumentation. Precision amplifiers have very low noise and distortion characteristics, and maintain very stable gain even over a wide temperature range and can measure very small voltage signals from noisy environments. They can also provide temperature compensation and high common mode rejection ratios.
