Silicon Labs Clock Synthesizer/Jitter Cleaner

Clock synthesizers/jitter cleaners are electronic devices that are used to improve the accuracy and synchronization of clocks in digital electronics. The function of a clock synthesizer/jitter cleaner is to take a regular clock signal, typically generated by an oscillator, and produce a much smoother and more precise signal using either analog or digital techniques. Clock synthesizers usually provide a large improvement in the stability of the clock signal and often provide the ability to scale the output clock frequency up or down. This means that a single clock synthesizer can be used to provide multiple different frequencies, allowing for a more flexible system design. Additionally, some clock synthesizers can also provide a range of timing control functions, such as pulse width modulation or frequency division, if required.
