About Analog Front End - AFE
Osram Analog Front End - AFE
Analog Front End (AFE) is a type of system used in many different electronics applications that consists of a set of circuits for the purpose of converting analog signals into digital signals for processing and archiving. The AFE offers the necessary circuits to achieve a high performance analog to digital conversion. These circuits include amplifiers, filters, multiplexers, switches, and other components. The analog signal is first amplified, filtered, and then multiplexed by the analog front end. This process results in a representation of the analog signal. With various multiplexing schemes, the AFE circuit can often provide the analog signal input to microprocessors, ASICs, or FPGAs. The AFE system also provides isolation and protection to the device, so that any variation in the external disruptions can be detected, filtered, and rejected.
