About Multiplexer Switch ICs
Multiplexer Switch ICs
A multiplexer switch IC is an integrated circuit that switches multiple signals between two or more input and output lines. The purpose of multiplexer switch ICs is to allow multiple signal paths to be selected to access a single output aggregating from multiple sources. Multiplexer switch ICs often contain power handling and buffering features that allow the IC to handle larger currents and voltages than a direct signal connection. In addition, the low-level multiplexer ICs usually provide signal isolation, as well as other features like filtering, time delay selection, and error checking and correction. Multiplexer switch ICs are commonly used in digital and analog signal processing, and can be found in such devices as cell phones, audio systems, and computer memory boards.
