LTC4213 No R SENSE Electronic Circuit Breaker FEATURES DESCRIPTION n Fast 1s Response Circuit Breaker The LTC 4213 is an electronic circuit breaker. An overcur- n 3 Selectable Circuit Breaker Thresholds rent circuit breaker senses the voltage across the drain n No Sense Resistor Required and source terminals of an external N-channel MOSFET n Dual Level Overcurrent Fault Protection with no need for a sense resistor. The advantages are a n Controls Load Voltages from 0V to 6V lower cost and reduced voltage and power loss in the n High-Side Drive for External N-Channel MOSFET switch path. An internal high-side driver controls the n Undervoltage Lockout external MOSFET gate. n READY Pin Signals When Circuit Breaker Armed Two integrated comparators provide dual level overcurrent n Small Plastic (3mm 2mm) DFN and TSOT-23 protection over the bias supply to ground common mode (ThinSOT) Packages range. The slow comparator has 16s response while the fast comparator trips in 1s. The circuit breaker has three selectable trip thresholds: 25mV, 50mV and 100mV. An APPLICATIONS ON pin controls the ON/OFF and resets circuit breaker n faults. READY signals the MOSFET is conducting and Electronic Circuit Breaker n the circuit breaker is armed.
