MAX14891E Quad Fault-Protected RS-485/RS-422 Receiver with Fault Detection General Description Benefits and Features The MAX14891E quad fault-protected RS-485/RS-422 High Flexibility Simplifies Design receiver is ideal for applications requiring high data rates Switching Rates up to 35Mbps and reduced noise in rugged environments. Each receiver 1.62V to 5.5V Logic Interface features a wide common-mode input range of -20V to Integrated Fault Detection Reduces Downtime +20V and is guaranteed to receive data at speeds up to Open-Wire and Short-Circuit Detection 35Mbps. Overvoltage and Undervoltage Fault Detection All receiver inputs are fault-protected against voltage Integrated Protection Ensures Robust shorts in the 40V range. Per-channel fault detection Communication provides warning of irregular conditions, such as short 40V Fault Protection Range circuits and open connections. 20V Common Mode Range The MAX14891E is available in a 20-pin TQFN-EP 25kV HBM ESD (4mm x 4mm) and operates over the -40C to +125C 7kV Air-Gap IEC 61000-4-2 ESD temperature range. 10kV Contact IEC 61000-4-2 ESD -40C to +125C Operating Temperature Range Applications Encoder Interfaces Ordering Information appears at end of data sheet.
