MAX17094 19-4348 Rev 0 10/08 Internal-Switch Boost Regulator with Integrated 7-Channel Driver, VCOM Calibrator, Op Amp, and LDO General Description Features 1.8V to 5.5V IN Supply Voltage Range The MAX17094 includes a high-performance step-up regulator, a 250mA low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator, a 450kHz to 1.2MHz Adjustable Frequency Current- high-speed operational amplifier, a digitally adjustable Mode Step-Up Regulator Fast-Transient Response VCOM calibration device with nonvolatile memory and 2 Integrated 14V, 2.5A, 150m MOSFET I C interface, and seven integrated high-voltage level High Efficiency (> 85%) shifters. The device is optimized for thin-film transistor Low-Dropout Linear Regulator (TFT) liquid-crystal display (LCD) applications. High-Accuracy Output Voltage (2.0%) The step-up DC-DC converter is a current-mode regu- Internal Digital Soft-Start lator that provides the regulated supply voltage for High-Performance Operational Amplifier panel source driver ICs. The current-mode architecture 200mA Output Short-Circuit Current provides fast-transient responses to pulsed loads typi- 45V/s Slew Rate cal of source driver loads. The high switching frequen- 20MHz, -3dB Bandwidth cy, which is programmable to any frequency between Rail-to-Rail Inputs and Outputs 450kHz to 1.2MHz with a single resistor, allows the use High-Voltage Drivers of ultra-small inductors and ceramic capacitors. Thermal-Overload Protection The low-voltage LDO linear regulator can provide at Ordering Information least 250mA. The output voltage is accurate within 2%. The high-voltage, level-shifting scan driver is designed PART TEMP RANGE PIN-PACKAGE to work with panels that incorporate row drivers on the MAX17094ETM+ -40C to +85C 48 TQFN-EP* panel glass. Its seven outputs swing from +30V to -10V +Denotes a lead(Pb)-free/RoHS-compliant package. and can swiftly drive capacitive loads. *EP = Exposed pad. The calibrator LX 40 21 Y5 includes a nonvolatile memory device (IVR) to store the 2 desired VCOM voltage level.
