The MAX3245ECAI+T with RS-232 Interface IC +/-15kV ESD-Protected, 1 uA, 1Mbps, 3.0V to 5.5V, RS-232 Transceivers with AutoShutdown Plus is an integrated circuit (IC) designed and manufactured by Analog Devices. It is a lowpower monolithic combined transceiver and line drivers for RS-232 communication in low-voltage systems.It is capable of providing true RS-232 performance from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply while consuming only 1uA quiescent power and enabling ESD protection to +/-15kV. It also includes AutoShutdown Plus technology that works to reduce power consumption by automatically decreasing the supply current while in standby mode.The MAX3245ECAI+T supports data rates up to 1Mbps and its slew rate limiting capability allows for improved EMI performance. The device is also able to provide one of the few true signal shutdown capability on the RS-232 bus, namely the flow control protocol trigger. This allows for improved system power management while staggering the system supply voltage start-up times.
