Evaluates: MAXM17516, MAXM17516 Evaluation Kit 6A Integrated Power Module General Description Features The MAXM17516 evaluation kit (EV kit) is a fully assem- High-Integration Solution/Integrated Shielded Inductor bled and tested PCB that demonstrates the typical 6A 2.4V to 5.5V Input Range application circuit of the MAXM17516. The MAXM17516 Configured for 1.5V Output Voltage is a fixed-frequency, integrated inductor, step-down power Adjustable Output-Voltage Range (0.75V to 1.8V) module for low-voltage, low-power applications. 6A Output Current The EV kit provides a 1.5V output voltage from a 2.4V 90.6% Efficiency (V = 3.3V, V = 1.5V at 1.79A) IN OUT to 5.5V input range and delivers up to 6A output current while achieving greater than 90.6% efficiency. The EV kit 1MHz Switching Frequency operates at 1MHz switching frequency and has superior Enable Input line and load-transient response. The EV kit also allows Power-Good Output Indicator (POK) the evaluation of other adjustable output voltages from Low-Profile, Surface-Mount Components 0.75V to 1.8V by changing resistors R1 and R2. Fully Assembled and Tested 19-7611 Rev 0 4/15Evaluates: MAXM17516, MAXM17516 Evaluation Kit 6A Integrated Power Module Switching Frequency (FREQ) Quick Start The EV kit features a PWM-mode switching frequency. Recommended Equipment The switching frequency is fixed at 1MHz. MAXM17516 EV kit Programming the Output Voltage 2.4V to 5.5V DC power supply (V ) IN The EV kit includes a default output programmed at 1.5V 5V DC power supply (V ) CC and also produces an adjustable 0.75V to 1.8V output Dummy load capable of sinking 6A voltage by connecting FB to a resistive divider. To obtain an output voltage other than the default programmed Digital multimeter (DMM) output, modify the R1 and R2 resistors with values 100MHz dual-trace oscilloscope according to the following equation: Procedure R1 The EV kit is fully assembled and tested.
