FORD-BLP (Bi-level Programming) is a type of media software used in many Ford vehicles to control infotainment, navigation, and other aspects of in-car systems. The programming language used for BLP is based on Microsoft’s .NET platform. It is designed to allow software developers to quickly develop, package, and deploy new applications for the Ford SYNC infotainment system. BLP also provides for more secure access to the Windows Mobile operating system and its plethora of applications, as well as a common set of APIs for integration into the car’s overall system. Ford vehicles with a SYNC 3 infotainment system use BLP for both infotainment and navigation.
