Additional Infomation About Product

The MBS 30 is a thirty-part series of permanent bridge piers (also known as abutments) that are engineered to be part of the Danube Bridge system in Romania. The Danube Bridge, also known as the “Decebal Bridge”, is the world’s largest bridge across the Danube, spanning 4.5 kilometers and connecting Romania and Bulgaria. The MBS 30 was created by a design-build-test-certify system that based the design on extensive performance testing of the components. The pier components feature steel structures with concrete foundations, rebar, and sheathing to ensure maximum longevity and stability. The foundations are designed to resist buckling and transmission of horizontal loads, and the structural components have been designed to minimize settlement within the soil as well as minimize noise and vibration. The bridge deck level and pier level are supported by the MBS 30, helping to reduce the total cost of the bridge system. The components were subject to fatigue testing, dynamic testing, and other assessments to ensure the highest level of security and longevity and are compliant with European seismic codes.
