It is designed for general-purpose voltage regulation applications, such as voltage regulation, over-voltage protection, temperature sensing, and power supply design. The device consists of two diodes connected in series, with a built-in breakdown voltage of 5.3 V. It has a reverse current leakage of 1 uA at a zener voltage of 5.3 V, and a power dissipation of 125 mW. It has an operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C, and is available in lead (Pb)-free and RoHS compliant packages. The SMB5350B also comes with avalanche energy ratings for protection against excessive supplies by providing a safe eutectic temperature at which it will switch off.
