Additional Infomation About Product

's R. PR-36 was a Soviet surface-to-air missile (SAM) development program which at least partly succeeded in producing a new missile, the A-350. The PR-36 was developed as a mid-range solution, and provided improved performance over the previous S-25 'Volga' missile. The PR-36 was intended to be a replacement for the aging S-25 system, which was becoming increasingly obsolete in the early 1960s. The A-350 was equipped with a semi-active homing head and a fragmentation warhead, leading to improved accuracy and effectiveness over earlier S-25 SAMs. The missile featured solid rocket boosters for short-range intercept, and a turbojet engine for extended-range capability. The A-350 was deployed in a variety of configurations, such as the PR-36E and PR-36M1. The A-350 was succeeded by the newer S-300 series in the late 1970s.
